DAS is the market leader in Legal Expenses Insurance.
Blue Crystal implemented a project to accept data via XML from a Web Service program and transfer this onto
the company's bespoke Claims System.
Ceva is a multinational logistics and transport company.
Blue Crystal assisted with the rollout of new releases of the company's core systems to the various national territories, covering pretty much the entire developed and developing world. Also, we assisted in the migration of all the company's systems onto one central platform.
Truvo is a leading local search and advertising business operating in a number of different national markets. In particular, the company provides classified business listings (“Yellow Pages”) .
Blue Crystal provided the expertise
to migrate data from the
Ireland and Portugal Yellow Pages databases (held on an Oracle system)
to the iSeries where the Belgium data resides.
The data was mapped consistently between the different systems, while
maintaining the various idiosyncrasies of the data for each territory.
Data checking and data cleansing was carried out.
This meant integrating CKJ’s existing Stealth vendor
package into
the ACS package used strategically by the other Warnaco divisions.
Blue
Crystal were involved in high and low level design at an international
and local level, as well as the implementation plan and extensive
testing of the code produced.
This meant getting to grips with user requirements in a very short
space of time, and translating these into program changes.
Blue Crystal also provided customer support on Warnaco’s
existing systems.
In 2006 Charles Wells merged with Young’s to form
Wells & Young’s, one of the largest independent
breweries in the UK.
As
part of the company’s rationalisation of its systems after
the merger,
Blue Crystal was engaged on a project to ensure the changes
in
the distribution and logistics functions was reflected in the
company’s
JBA System 21 software, primarily the Sales and Purchasing systems but
also involving some changes to the EDI interfaces.
Fidelity International, Tonbridge
Fidelity International is one of the UK's largest Investment Fund
Managers.
Blue
Crystal provided consultancy services on two projects for Fidelity,
both involving changes to Fidelity’s systems made necessary
by
legislative changes.
Firstly, a project to implement legislation changes concerning the new
UK ISA regulations, which came into force in April 2008.
Secondly,
a project to implement changes to the company’s calculations
systems
due to changes to the complex tax regulations in Germany.
Blue
Crystal was involved in all stages of the projects from
initiating requirements with the business to design, coding and
testing.
Much of the programming on the project was
carried out by an offshore outsourcing company, so the technical
specifications were to quite a detailed level.
Blue Crystal also provided support services for Fidelity’s
existing systems.
Skandia is a leading multinational Life and Pensions Company.
Blue
Crystal were engaged to provide Technical Analyst services on a project
to implement all the changes necessary to the company’s
systems owing
to the new Pensions legislation that came in on 6th April 2006.

The work was done to strict company standards to
produce Functional and Technical design specifications and System Test
plans to a very high level of precision so that developers from an
offshore company with no prior knowledge of the company’s
systems could
easily code them.
Domestic
& General Ltd, Wimbledon

are the UK’s leading Appliance Protection specialists. Blue
Crystal
provided coding and testing services on a project to develop the
company's Campaign Management systems.
Coldwater
Foods, Grimsby
Blue
Crystal were engaged by this large food company during a transitional
period where systems from the recently acquired Northern Foods needed
to be integrated with Coldwater’s own systems.
Blue Crystal
designed and implemented a new costing module as well as providing
support for the day-to-day running of Coldwater’s existing
systems,
including the suite of EDI programs.
Retail Assist (formerly Grantfort Computer
Systems)
Grantfort
(now part of Retail Assist) were a Software House whose main product
was the Merret retail package – clients include Harvey
Nichols,
Principles and Burberry.
Blue Crystal were responsible for
coding and testing new and changed functionality in the Warehousing and
Purchase Order modules for rollout of the product to a new client
(Paperchase).
Ryvita
Ltd, Poole
Blue Crystal provided IT Management consultancy for the IT
Manager for a period of three months. The major task at this time was
to begin a data migration of the company’s systems to a
Unix-based
machine.
Support and Development work was also provided on Ryvita’s
suite of Manufacturing, Sales and Accounting software.
Blue
Crystal also helped implement a new manufacturing system and developed
the company’s EDI systems, which involved talking to business
partners
about requirements and setting up message formats using Intercept/400.
Dendrite
Clinical Systems Ltd, Loughborough
Dendrite
Clinical Systems is a specialist supplier of clinical database and
analysis software and consultancy services for the international
healthcare sector.
Dendrite’s product is Pharbase, which needed to be heavily
bespoked according to the particular requirements of the client.
Blue Crystal was engaged to provide analysis and coding services for
several of Dendrite’s client requirements.
The
work involved analysing user requirements and specifying, designing and
coding user-interface screens as well as batch processing programs. All
programs had to undergo a thorough and painstaking test phase prior to
going live.

Bank Of Canada Ltd, London
Blue
Crystal was engaged on a two-year assignment in the City Of
London, for the Global Securities division of this large multinational
Bank.
The brief was to set up and run the new Small Works
section within the IT Department, which meant concurrently managing a

module, including changing the Order Entry process to standardise the
company’s various legacy systems, as well as giving enhanced

Crystal were engaged by Entra to work on a new credit-card application
function for an existing card system (ENTRACARD).

Foods Ltd, Esher
The company was undergoing a large data migration involving the
implementation of BPCS version 6.1.

Crystal provided expertise to develop interfaces between BPCS and the
various Legacy systems, in particular the Manufacturing files and the
Sales Order, Item, Customer, Pricing and Promotions Files.
Walon
BNL, Yeovil
Walon BNL is one of Europe's most successful vehicle logistics
companies, serving the European automotive industry.
Blue Crystal was engaged to develop and maintain the Translogistix
system, dealing mainly with the Rover Group.
This involved receiving and analysing data feeds to and from various
sites in the UK and Europe.

Crystal provided consultancy on a project to complete the
implementation of the JBA System 21 package, incorporating JBA Drinks.
In particular, we were involved in the migration of data from the
company's legacy UNIX system to the AS400.

Matthew Clark is a large drinks company based in Bristol.

Crystal were engaged to provide Year 2000 Impact Analysis and
Implementation on a number of the company’s JBA and DATA3
software
systems, as well as on the bespoke Forecasting System.
Britvic,
Solihull
Britvic is one of the two leading branded soft drinks businesses in the
UK and Ireland.
Blue
Crystal provided consultancy services on an upgrade from BPCS version 4
to version 6. This involved writing a number of interface
programs between shop floor data collection systems and the BPCS system.
Allied
Domecq, Bristol (now part of Pernod-Ricard)
Allied
Domecq were a large drinks company based in Bristol. Blue Crystal were
engaged to set up and document EDI programs, interfaces and procedures
between Allied Domecq and its Trading Partners, working with the
ETS/400 and Intercept/400 packages. This included Orders, Invoices and
Credit Notes and Price Lists.
Blue Crystal also provided
consultancy on a project to improve the way the Supply Chain was
handled throughout the Group’s constituent companies.
Dixons Ltd, Hemel Hempstead
Dixons is one of Europe’s leading specialist electrical
retailing groups.
Blue Crystal were engaged to carry out two projects based around the
Company’s Coverplan insurance systems.
Firstly,
a project to rationalise follow-up mailing strategies, and secondly, to
implement a new discount scheme. In each case this involved liasing
with users and management, program specification, design,
implementation, testing and documentation.
Blue Crystal also provided user support and bug fixing as well as
producing various ad hoc management reports.
Parker
Pen Limited, Newhaven
Blue Crystal’s first assignment was on a project to implement
EDI on a JBA Sales Order Processing system, using Intercept/400.
We
were responsible for developing EDI Invoicing, Credit Notes, Ordering,
Order Amendments and Cancellations and Despatch Notes, and for
integrating these into the existing Sales Order Processing module.
Blue Crystal also provided a Bar Code program for Despatch Notes.
